Would highly recommend if youโve never eaten here to give it a go. On the surface, being located in a strip mall with other shops (ie smaller footprint location) and being marketed as a brewery might indicate the food might be mid. But you wonโt find that here. Came in for dinner service Friday evening. First thing I noticed was that there were many locals, and lots of families w their children. Service was friendly and attentive. Waits werenโt too long but would suggest budgeting 30 min for the wait to grab a table. The interior is snug, and felt a bit stuffy with it being so busy. That aside. Tried a variety of dishes and they were all high quality and delightful. The chili is S-tier and I highly recommend. For drinkers, the brewery offers up plenty of styles. Definitely can see this place being part of a rotation!
Overview
Walking into Hopsaint Brewing Company at 5160 W 190th St, Torrance, CA 90503, United States feels less like entering a brewery and more like stepping into a neighborhood hangout that happens to take beer and food very seriously. The first thing that hit me on my initial visit was the smell of malt and roasted hops drifting from the brewing area, mixed with the unmistakable aroma of something sizzling in the kitchen. It immediately set the tone for a place that values craft, patience, and comfort in equal measure.
Iโve spent years visiting brewpubs across Southern California, and what stands out here is the balance between brewing science and diner-style hospitality. The brewing process is visible, which is always a good sign. Seeing stainless steel tanks behind glass gives confidence that whatโs in your pint glass was made on-site, carefully monitored from mash to fermentation. According to data from the Brewers Association, over 75% of U.S. craft beer drinkers say freshness and local production influence where they choose to drink, and this place clearly leans into that expectation with pride.
The menu reads like a thoughtful mix of elevated pub food and comforting classics. On one visit, I watched a table next to me debate for ten minutes before finally ordering burgers, fish and chips, and a shared plate of house-made pretzels. That indecision is understandable. Each item feels designed to pair with a specific beer style, whether itโs a hop-forward IPA cutting through rich flavors or a malty amber ale complementing grilled meats. The kitchen workflow is efficient but not rushed, which I noticed when chatting briefly with a server who explained how timing food with fresh beer pours is part of their daily routine.
What really impressed me was how approachable the staff made the beer selection. Craft beer can feel intimidating, especially with styles like double IPAs or barrel-aged stouts. Here, the servers explain flavor profiles in plain language, often using examples like citrus zest, toasted bread, or dark chocolate. That aligns with guidance from organizations like the Cicerone Certification Program, which emphasizes clear communication over jargon when helping guests choose beer. Itโs expertise without ego, and it builds trust quickly.
Reviews from regulars often mention consistency, and from my experience, that reputation is well earned. Iโve visited during a quiet weekday afternoon and a packed weekend evening, and the quality held steady. The brews tasted clean and well-balanced both times, which suggests strong quality control practices. Cleanliness in brewing is non-negotiable, and even minor lapses can affect flavor. While no brewery is immune to batch variations, I havenโt personally encountered an off pour here, though availability does change as seasonal beers rotate.
The location itself adds to the appeal. Torrance has become a quiet hotspot for craft beer fans, and this spot fits naturally into that scene without trying too hard. Parking is straightforward, the dining area is spacious, and the atmosphere encourages lingering rather than rushing out. Families, groups of friends, and solo diners all seem equally comfortable, which says a lot about the overall vibe.
One phrase Iโve heard more than once from fellow diners is bold comfort with character, and it fits. This isnโt experimental beer for the sake of novelty, nor is it generic pub fare. Itโs a place where thoughtful brewing meets reliable cooking, backed by a team that knows their craft. While beer preferences are always subjective, and menus evolve over time, the core experience here has remained solid and dependable. For anyone exploring local breweries with food that holds its own, this spot continues to justify the positive word-of-mouth it receives.

This little corner gem is amazing. My nail shop is next door and I've never been here before until today. It smells so amazing and the food did not disappoint. Our server Jasmine suggested some dishes and we are so glad we listened. We were able to share and try a little of everything. The balsamic strawberry salad was so refreshing. The house killer shrimp was so saucy and flavorful. Highly suggest trying this plate. The brisket and the braised short rib was so juicy and it melts in your mouth. Looking forward to my next visit. So spacious and they make their own beer. Everything was on point.
For an early birthday celebration, my wife and daughter took me to one of her favorite spots in Torrance to enjoy some good beers and food. They kept the beers flowing and I enjoyed every sip. The food was heavenly and came out promptly with little delay. The atmosphere is freely and they had upbeat music playing to you. An vibe to; which also enhanced the experience. Very affordable and a spot you can go to when trying to stay local while also enjoying an afternoon out. I will definitely be back.
Went in for lunch today with my wife. We ordered brisket, Brussel sprouts and a couple beers. Beers are great and reasonably priced. The $21 brisket order however was way overpriced for the amount. The amount looked almost like an appetizer. Not enough to fill up even 1 person, so the price should be something like $13-16 max. In addition the brisket tasted like tender roast beef rather than barbecue. Other food items are probably good but I would not get BBQ there anymore considering the cost versus amount.
If you havenโt already had the opportunity, this spot is a must try! Upon walking in, the ambiance was noticeably warm and inviting. After trying the Killer Shrimp appetizer, it became clear that the chefs know what theyโre doing. The incredible depth of flavor was truly special with every dish. Aside from the amazing food, Madeleine and Christina left a remarkably positive impression on my experience as well. I'll definitely be back!
I just wanted to take a moment to recognize Randi for the outstanding service she consistently provides. I've been coming to HopSaint since it first opened, and every time I visit, Randi makes the experience memorable. She always remembers exactly what I like to order, and her friendly, attentive attitude truly makes each visit special. Itโs rare to find someone who consistently goes above and beyond like she does. HopSaint is already one of my favorite spots, and Randi is a big part of why I keep coming back. Just wanted to say thanksโand give her the recognition she deserves!
Great place and very kind people. I got a quick service. The place is cozy and great.
Pretty cool brewery. Good rotation and variety of beers. They offer lots of food. Didnโt try their BBQ but had a flatbread which was great. Cool vibe, lots of seating, and friendly service. A great neighborhood joint!
